“Violence, death and destruction is a part of life for Afghans. Damaged buildings, bunkers and gunmen with sophisticated weapons have been their landscape. If one somehow manages to stretch the imagination and remove all these, then what remains is a very beautiful country with amazingly hospitable people. As the sun sets in Kabul, illuminating small houses located on the hills around Kabul, it feels like you are looking at a galaxy of stars on the horizon. That's what I choose to remember about my time there.”
