Photographer's Note:
During a decade inside Afghanistan, covered the brutality of a country at war. But I also photographed beauty, so much that seemed otherwordly to me. This was a mass celebration of the New Year. It was 1385 according to the Afghan calendar. I stood on a hillside in awe of this scene.
