“It was a rather surreal moment.  We were on our way back from a UK special task force embed. The sun was about to set and the whole area to be engulfed by darkness. Unaware of the ground reality these children were making the best of the moment, in a region which was a stronghold of the Taliban.
 
In spite of the dryness and rough terrain, the beauty of the place is in its simplicity, as is also reflected in their children.”
